Jacksonville is a seaport city located in northeast Florida near the St. John’s River. The city was original name was Cowford, because it was a cattle crossing, but was renamed in 1822 after our 7th President Andrew Jackson.

The city has its share of sporting events, including the Gator Bowl, ACC Championship and professional tennis tournaments are held each year. In 2005 Jacksonville played host to the NFL Superbowl.
