"Thanks for the truth. I avoided $8.00 per night in extra fees on hotels.com, and found a lower rate on your site. Keep up the honest work!"
Jan M. Madison, CT
"I just used your on-line booking to obtain a government rate for the U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota at a hotel where they could not give me that same rate over the phone. This is almost too good to be true, but it certainly made my day. "
Jean, Minneapolis, MN
Los Angeles Hotel and Travel Information

Welcome to RoomRate.com, your one-stop source for direct hotel booking rates in Los Angeles, offering Discount Hotel rates within Los Angeles's downtown area.

With a population of almost 4 million people, Los Angeles is the second largest city in the United States sprawling almost 469 square miles. Los Angeles is one of the world’s most important economic, cultural, and entertainment centers and is home to the hottest movie, television, and music stars. With its year-round warm and sunny weather, Los Angeles is the perfect destination for East Coast travelers looking to get away from their miserable winters. The city is one of the largest entry points for immigrants, which makes it a culturally diverse population. More than one-third of Los Angeles’ residents were born outside the United States.

Los Angeles was founded as a Spanish colony in the late 1700s, but in 1822, the Mexican government seized control of the land. Plagued by unrest in Mexico, the government left the California territory defenseless and in 1826 American explorers, looking to inhabit the West, started trickling into the region. In 1850, after the Mexican War ended, Los Angeles was incorporated as a U.S. city. The steady westward movement of American settlers exploded with the discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill. The arrival of the railroad in 1876 established new travel and commerce routes between California and the East coast.

Los Angeles is served by Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), the 5th largest airport in the world. Los Angeles offers a host of sightseeing attractions such as the La Brea Tar Pits, the structural wonder of the Watts Tower, and longest, continuously operated studio, Paramount Pictures (where on hopes to engage in stargazing). Some of the most famous neighborhoods of Los Angeles include Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Santa Monica, each offering its own distinct flavor to the culture of La-La land.
